Bonnie Whitman

Bonnie Whitman (Gafney) Bonnie started her first SAR dog, Sarena, in 1988 while working in Yellowstone National Park. She retired in 2014 after 34 years as a Park Ranger and now lives in Bozeman, MT with her husband, two working dogs and two retired horses. Bonnie was actively involved with SAR in Yellowstone National Park and West Yellowstone for over 25 years, and continues with the Sheriff’s Posse in Gallatin County. She and her dogs have been active in a wide variety of Search & Rescue and Law Enforcement missions over the years in a variety of locations. Bonnie is currently training her fifth German Shepherd, Sabre, while Gator continues to work strong in a limited capacity.

Gator

Gator started his working career in 2009. He quickly became a confident, exuberant partner who enjoyed all aspects of his many jobs. He is a social and vocal boy who gets along easily with others, and is a wonderful “big brother” to younger Sabre.

SABRE

Sabre started his career as a small puppy in 2016. He is a focused and intense boy who loves to work and learn new things. He is a social guy with many friends who is turning into a very nice SAR partner!
